Thanks for stopping by the online home of Troops 42 and 422 of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Our goal is to help young adults learn leadership skills while participating in inviting activities and community projects. We encourage our scouts to enjoy camping, canoeing, skiing and other rewarding adventures in the great outdoors. Highlights of our Troops include yearly trips to our local merit badge university, a week at Howard H. Cherry Scout Reservation, and a four year High Adventure schedule. We also could not be as active without our bus and customized trailer.
Please enjoy your visit and make sure you look at all of the pages. We have a lot here to look at. Return often because our webmaster is always hard at work updating our site.

Eagle scout is the highest achievement available for scouts. It takes years of effort and leadership prowess to earn. So far, we have 167 Eagle scouts in our history, with more on the way. If you are a scout or parent, you can check progress in the Member's Only section.
Our troops are very strong and active organizations for the youth of our community and have an extremely dedicated and active parent group. Our Scoutmasters, Kevin Kropf and Paula Gunter, and our many committed Assistant Scoutmasters work hard to train all our young men to achieve beyond their potential. We allow the Scouts to decide our activities during monthly PLC meetings, where each youth leader can voice their opinions. You can learn more about our leadership structure on our leadership page.
We are a unit of the Northern Lights District of the Hawkeye Area Council located in the wonderful Cedar Rapids, Iowa. As some have put it, not Idaho where they grow potatoes or Ohio where they have Buckeyes - Iowa where they grow more corn than any other state. Last, but certainly not least, we are excited to be associated with our charter organization, Waltonian Archers.
